WatchImplant-Supported Bridge
Replacing a row of missing teeth with an implant-supported bridge
A traditional bridge replaces missing teeth by shaving down the healthy teeth on either side of the gap. An implant-supported bridge takes a different route: it anchors to titanium posts placed directly in your jawbone and leaves your other teeth untouched. When several teeth in a row are missing, that makes it the most durable, natural-feeling way to replace them.
The procedure itself is shown in this video. Once the area is comfortably numbed, small openings are made in the jawbone and the implants are placed. Over several months, the bone naturally fuses to each implant in a process called osseointegration. After that, an extension is attached to each implant and impressions are taken to fabricate a custom bridge that's cemented or screwed permanently into place.
Add it up and the benefits are significant: the implants stop the jawbone loss that always follows tooth loss, the bridge keeps your remaining teeth from drifting into the gap, and the surrounding healthy teeth stay intact rather than being cut down. With good home care and routine checkups, an implant-supported bridge can last a lifetime.
